Little brother to my last post. As the portraits were to be a gift to their mother, I asked if she’d want the nose ring included or not. I love how they gave it some thought and decided it should stay.

Look at this gorgeous young man! Those features… Man, I loved painting him and his brother. Even better was witnessing how sweet they were with each other.

Something interesting happened as I was painting this portrait. I’ve painted a few other members of her family, but that was a few years ago, and honestly, I’m not sure I remember all of the faces. But as I was painting this portrait, I realized that I had painted certain of her features before—in a sibling, or her mom… not sure who. It was a strange feeling, but cool.
